Credit Recovery

Students who have failed a course or who are behind on graduation credits may sign up to take courses on A+ Learning Systems (credit recovery). Students will have one (1) semester plus a summer school session to regain the credit they lost before they are placed back into the course. For example, if a student fails 1st semester Biology, he/she has 2nd semester and summer school to complete the credit recovery. If a student fails 2nd semester Biology he/she has summer school and 1st semester of the following school year to complete the credit recovery. Students who score BELOW 50% must complete ALL objectives for that class in order to complete Credit Recovery.

Students who score between 50% and 59% will be assigned objectives using the following method: a minimum of FIVE (5) objectives must be completed in order to earn credit. An additional 1-2 objectives will be assigned for each percent the grade is below 59%. For example, if a student scores 57%, the teacher will assign the 5 minimum objectives (teacher selects) and an additional 2-4 objectives for being 2% below 59%. This will vary from department to department based on the number of objectives available in that subject area.

Once a student completes their credit recovery course a letter grade of “P” will get entered on their transcript. The “P” will not replace the “F” and will not be figured in the student’s grade point average.

Beginning with the Class of 2020, students will not be allowed to do credit recovery prior to attending summer school without administrative approval..
